 Today my new camera has come to my hands.
I have been lucky to possess for three years its small and old sister:
the
sanyo vcp-c4.
For me was a marvellous camera, only negative thing was its video
(640x480 30 fps) , horrifying in conditions of low light, or interior. The
digital stabilizer makes its labor, when the movements are not sudden. In
fact in the recordings that
I have done
in the kayak the result is very good at stability.
This camera seems that has solved the problem of the recording with low
light. The quality already known, and the characteristic of waterproof, made
me decide for this model. In spite of to be a very new model, there can be
obtained many info and opinion about its not waterproof sister:
vpc-cg65.
Here
you prune to find opinions in English of users, as well as samples of video
and photo. In some countries this model is called sanyo xacti-e1.
On having opened the box already I could estimate the differences. The
size is the most top, I imagine that for putting the screen of 2,5 ", and
for the need to protect it from the water. You can put a C-4 without
problems in pocket of trousers.The vpc-ca65 fits, but it is a nuisance. The
plastic is present in almost the whole camera, giving certain aspect of
fragility. Only the snack of the screen and the most top part is metallic.
The latter, and the zone of the buttons seems steel.
The buttons sin of tiny, and rather vague. I believe that it is a failure,
and it will be necessary to see since they behave when takes winter gloves.
The screen is ok, for size, sheen and quality of the image. I imagine that
now I vwill be able to see objects in screen, when the Sun light is intense.
In Spain we are paddling in sunny conditions usually.
Under the buttons of the zoom one finds the opening for the port USB, the
card, and the battery. It takes a safety closing to protect this so delicate
zone. I have not bought this camera to work under the water, but I trust in
that is resistant to the water of sea that can come to him in the pocket of
the jacket, or if it is recording on the cover of the kayak. To this end
will be very useful, the coil to place it in a tripod or support.
The battery lasts sufficiently, but in an exit of one day it is easy that
we exhaust her and is very advisable to go of supply. In

I bought not original batteries with very good price and which give a
service more than acceptable. The camera does not float at all, and need
help to float. To lengthen the service of the battery it is advisable to
change the configuration to put it in way of saving. The camera ignites and
extinguishes rapidly on having opened and to close the snack of the
visor.Camera was designed to work with a hand. Two can be used, but serious
to look for the maximum stability when the video is recorded. The camera
takes a small strap to hook in the wrist. I have seen in Internet rubber
strap , ideal for nautic sports to keep camera on your hand. |

For me, the obtained photography is of very
good quality.I shoot good images on my kayak, in sports mode.I only see
a little problem to use this camera in kayaking. I personally had
changed the design of the lens. Everybody who photographs in sea kayak
knows that major enemy are the drops that dry off in the lens. Other
design of this zone helps to clean it. Some solution I will have to
think to protect so critical zone.
The video of the sanyo is worse than video of a video camera (dv o
dvd cam), but it has an acceptable quality. Different qualities can be
selected to increase the time that we prune to record, but in order that
you do an idea to yourselves, in a card of 1 Gb you can record 40
minutes of top quality video. Remember that it can take cards up even 8
Gb. The format is in
mp4, in which the video is in
mpeg-4
and the audio in AAC.
The used codec is rare (H.264)
which complicates a bit the reproduction in equipments that do not have
it installed, and in the topic of the edition. The camera takes a
package of edition..
I think sanyo has been solved the poorest quality of c4 video when
light was not solar.
In very silent conditions there is listened in the recording a sound
form auto-focus.
A characteristic that many users were estimating is the power to
obtain fixed images to ceiling of resolution (6 mp) without stopping
recording. In this circumstance sanyo does not shoot flash. |

The engraved sound also is
of an acceptable quality.
I have bought the camera in
www.focusline.de to a price of 377
eur, with included transport.
Particularly I do not recommend this shop. I have not had problems, but
the camera waqs deliverd in 10 days, with poor info abut purchase

I think this camera is "total weapon" to make video and pthotos in
